About the Campaign

Africa's changemakers belong in the narrative.

Thousands of organisations across Africa — registered NGOs, community groups, and informal movements — are doing extraordinary work: building schools, restoring ecosystems, advocating for rights, feeding communities. Yet most never appear in the media conversations that shape funding, policy, and public perception.

In The Narrative is Philanthropy Circuit's media visibility campaign launched on World NGO Day to change that. Whether your organisation is formally registered or informally operating, if you are driving change in your community, you belong in this story.

What You Receive

This is not a grant.
It is a narrative intervention.

Each month, one selected organisation receives:

A professionally written feature story published on Philanthropy Circuit  ·  Dedicated Instagram and Facebook spotlight posts  ·  Inclusion in the Philanthropy Circuit newsletter  ·  A short editorial session to refine your messaging and positioning

Selection is based on

Clarity of impact  ·  Community relevance
Demonstrated activity  ·  Story strength
Alignment with our mission

Registration status is not the deciding factor. Impact is.

Who Can Apply

Registered NGOs  ·  Informal community groups
Youth-led initiatives  ·  Grassroots collectives
Faith-based community projects
Social impact initiatives without formal NGO status

Application Criteria

What We Look For

Active Implementation
Real work, on the ground

Applicants must be actively implementing community-based work — not planning, not aspiring. Doing.

📸
Verifiable Evidence
Show us your work

Photos, testimonials, references, public presence, or community confirmation. We verify before we feature.

⚖️
Values Alignment
Inclusion. Equity. Non-discrimination.

We do not feature initiatives engaged in partisan political campaigning, harmful practices, or discriminatory activities.

📋
Registration Status
Formal or informal — both welcome

Whether you are a registered NGO or an unregistered community group, you are eligible to apply.
